WHNPA member and Associated Press photojournalist Jacquelyn Martin played a key role in the fortuitous reunion of a missing man and his family. Martin made a cold weather feature of a man resting near a steam vent with a group homeless in Washington, DC Saturday, January 4th. The man who only identified himself as Nick, was Rochester area man Nicholas Simmons, had been missing for several days from home. The photo, which ran in a [lightbox src=”http://54.85.141.172/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/GLA627SDT.11.pdf”]USA Today insert[/lightbox], was ultimately seen by the Simmons family in the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle who recognized their loved one. The Simmons family and friends spoke with Martin who helped direct the family to where Nicholas was last seen.
